Healthcare
Guildowns Group Practice – GP service
Most people in the village are registered with the NHS Guildowns Group Practice. The most local surgery is on Wodeland Avenue, but if you want to be seen more quickly you may be offered appointments at The Oaks Surgery in Park Barn, Stoughton Road Surgery in Bellfields, or the Student Health Centre on the University Campus. The Student Health Centre is quite an easy walk if you approach it from Guildford Park Road, but the other two would require a long walk or a short car journey.
Before you can use the surgery you need to register, either as a permanent resident, a temporary resident, or a student. This can be done online or at the surgery. Appointments can be made online or by phone.

Royal Surrey County Hospital
For emergencies go to the Royal Surrey. This is a 5 minute drive away, just behind the Tesco Supermarket, or a 20-25 minute walk. It is a very good hospital, but unfortunately waiting times in Accident & Emergency can be very long. You don’t have to be registered at a local surgery to use the A&E.

Walk-in Nurse-led Centres
If the condition is urgent but not an emergency then you may find it more convenient to go to a nurse-led walk-in centre. These centres do not see children under the age of 2 and they are restricted in the medical conditions they can handle, however in some circumstances they offer a considerably quicker service than the hospital A&E. Please check their websites before setting out to make sure it is not a wasted journey.
There are two centres which are both reasonably close:
Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) – Haslemere Hospital
The Minor Injuries Unit is for adults and children over two years of age. It is run by our team of skilled Nurse Practitioners who can assess, diagnose and treat patients with minor injuries.
The unit often has shorter waiting times than our Emergency Department (A&E) and there is no need to make an appointment, although you can call 111 for advice and a time slot to attend.
It is open from 8am to 5pm Monday – Sunday. Our address is Haslemere Minor Injuries Unit, Church Lane, Haslemere GU27 2BJ.
Please note: The service is not for life threatening injuries and if you require urgent medical attention or assistance, please call 999.

Woking Walk-in Centre
The Woking Walk-in Centre is open Monday – Sunday, 8am-8pm. It operates in a similar way to the Haslemere centre above and does not see children under 2 years old. Their address is Woking Walk-in Centre
Heathside Road
Woking
GU22 7HS
