We currently have a Cubs and Scouts section, for girls and boys from 8 – 10.5 (Cubs) and 10.5 to 14.5 (Scouts), and are actively looking to restart the Beavers section for 6 to 8 year olds. We meet on Tuesday evenings (Cubs) and Friday evenings (Scouts) in the Scout HQ building on Onslow Village recreation ground, as well as at weekends. Guiding Introduction
There have been Brownie and Guide units in Onslow Village for over 70 years and we are still going strong, with three Brownie groups and one Guide group in the village.
We would advise you to put your daughter on the Brownie waiting list well before they are seven, the Unit Leader will be in touch when she turns seven and space is available.

Brownies
Brownies is for girls aged 7-10 years old. In unit meetings the girls follow the Brownie Programme set out by Girlguiding. Weekly meetings consist of fun and engaging games and activities that lead towards earning different badges. Brownies may be learning camping skills to earn their “Camp” badge, being creative inventors to earn their “Innovate” badge or use different tools to earn their “Live Smart” badge.
Girls can complete additional activities at home to earn their interest badges which cover a wide range of areas such as Zero Waste, Baking, Performing and Space – plus many more.
Brownies in Onslow Village also have the opportunity to attend day trips, one-night sleepovers and two-night Brownie Holidays.

Guides
Once the girls turn ten, they can move onto Guides. At Guides, girls continue to follow the Girlguiding Programme. They can continue to earn interest badges in areas such as Backwoods Cooking, Mixology, Geocaching, Campaigning and Vlogging.
In Guides (aged 10-14 years), girls continue with the skills that they started learning in Brownies such as camping and leadership. They also complete additional activities to help develop skills that are integral to Girlguiding such as cooking over fire, camping and making melted marshmallows.
Guides in Onslow Village also have the opportunity to attend local, district and county camps as well as day trips and sleepovers. Recently these have been at AirHop and at Winchester Science Museum.
